California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)

Stevens Consulting brings 20 years of experience assisting clients to comply with CEQA by providing strategic advice, and by preparing the full range of CEQA documents, including Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Initial Study/Negative Declarations (IS/MNDs), and Categorical Exemptions.

Stevens Consulting has managed projects ranging from multi-hundred thousand dollar EIRs to IS/MNDs for under $10,000, and everything in between.

Craig Stevens has provided CEQA compliance training for the California Department of Water Resources and the Water Resources Control Board, and co-authored the "A Guide to Regulatory Compliance for Implementing CALFED Actions" for the CALFED Bay-Delta Authority".

National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

Stevens Consulting also brings 20 years of experience assisting clients to comply with NEPA, including the full range of NEPA documents, from Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessment/Findings of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSIs), and Categorical Exclusions.

Joint CEQA/NEPA Documents

Stevens Consulting assists clients by providing strategic advice on how to integrate joint CEQA/NEPA documents such as EIR/EISs and IS/MND/EA/FONSIs. We have also prepared numerous joint documents for state and federal agencies.

Endangered Species Act (ESA) and California Endangered Species Act (CESA)

Stevens Consulting provides strategic advice in compliance with both ESA and CESA, including: reconnaissance-level and protocol-level endangered species surveys; preparing permit applications under Sections 7 and 10 of the ESA; preparing permit applications under Section 2081 of CESA; and consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, and the California Department of Fish and Game.

Clean Water Act and Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act

Stevens Consulting provides services to comply with the various provisions of the federal Clean Water Act and state Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, including: Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications; Section 404 wetland delineations; Section 404 permit applications; and Waste Discharge Requirements applications.

Other Environmental Laws and Permits

We provide services to comply with other environmental laws and regulations, including: Clean Air Act; National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); and Department of Fish and Game Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement Program.
